when an npc's quest fulfills the condition to spawn a bright star, that npc will appear in the top right corner of your game screen.

yang: buy one or more turkey
jungle sisters: save all sisters
van horsing: meet at vlad's castle
sparrow: reward thrown at palace of pleasure
madame tusk: meet at palace of pleasure
beg: truecrown thrown

It also shows the shopkeeper's aggro level, tun's aggro level, and the number of pets saved.

All of these can be turned on and off in the options.
