This is a custom character I made for personal use but I decided to share it in case someone else likes it (and also as a backup if my computer dies or something). It's a girl with ginger hair, freckles and a hoodie. Includes a Yo-Yo instead of a whip and a rope with a dark Teddy bear attached to it. I also included the journal sprite in the preview images as usual. Don't know if I'll make a portrait for it but it's a possibility. Anyways, enjoy!

@TheDaiquiriMan You're welcome and thanks! Haha. I draw in raster since I use Paint.net.

@Acht05 Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the tips. Great work on this character as well! Also, one more question, do you draw in vectors or raster?

@TheDaiquiriMan Hi, what I do is basically look at he preexisting characters and kinda mesh parts of them to use as base for the standing sprite, and then I draw over them, adding or changing what I need. The first thing I do is the head and the body (without legs and arms) and then the different expressions I need. After that it's just a process of copying those and pasting them over the other animations in another layer (using one character as a base for all the animations now), erasing the parts of the base that I don't need, recoloring, drawing missing stuff, editing etc. It's not the best way to do it though I'm sure but it works for me. In general I'd just reccommend you grab one of the sprite sheets and draw over the animations there instead of drawing something and then resizing it. This might help you too: https://www.reddit.com/r/spelunky/comments/jrz25w/i_made_a_custom_skin_template_for_spelunky_2/
Other tips I can give you are to make sure the sprites are aligned correctly (the sprite sheet tester on this site is a life saver when it comes to that) and to look out for stray pixels since those are very common when making these (test them in the game a lot too, since sometimes you might not see those until you check the sprites ingame). Also, the wanted poster sprite isn't just the standing sprite recolored, they usually have a bit more detail if you check the ones in the game, but that's just a small thing really. Anyways, hope this wasn't too confusing (english isn't my native language haha) and if you have any other questions just ask! Good luck!
Also to everyone else who commented nice things, thank you guys, I really appreciate it ^^

I'm really interested in making my own custom characters and am wondering what your process is for drawing them up. When I resize my drawings to fit in the character sheet they seem to get very pixelated. Any tips would help a ton!
